A: It's a very friendly and fun gathering of quilters/sewers sharing a weekend together!
We call it "Brown Bag" because each Retreater brings her/his own project to work on and everyone brings something to share at the Friday night potluck. There are no classes, no schedules to adhere to, no workshop to follow -- just you, your sewing machine, your project and everyone else! Your weekend will be filled with good food, good fun and good friends - we like to tell people you'll have nothing to do except "graze and sew" (meaning enjoy the yummy snacks and food and then get back to sewing!)

A: We hold them right here at The Creation Station -- not inside the shop. We have a very special, 2,400 square foot room in the same building. That means that the shop is only a few steps away if you need supplies!

Q: How Much Does a Brown Retreat Cost?


A: Price for our Brown Bag Retreat is $100 per person for the three-day retreat.
Please note that lodging is not included in the Brown Bag Retreat Fee and extra days are $50 each.

How Do I Sign Up For a Brown Bag Retreat?


A: Just complete our registration form and mail/fax it with your complete payment. Please make sure you indicate the correct weekend dates for the Brown Bag Retreat that you want to attend.

The Date I Want is Sold Out!


A: Call the shop (805) 693-0174 to let us know that you are interested in a retreat date that is sold out. We will place you on a waiting list. There is no cost to be on a waiting list. IF someone cancels, we call the persons listed on our waiting list for that date to, hopefully, find a replacement. There is NO obligation to you to be on the waiting list. If you are called and you accept, you will then need to pay for the Brown Bag Retreat seat.


Q: Where do I have to Stay?

A: You can stay anywhere you like. There are no lodging requirements and local Buellton lodging options are listed on our lodging document. Just click HERE to read it!

A: Yes, if our calendar allows it and if the number of persons attending meets our minimum requirement.
