Q: What is a "Brown Bag Retreat?"

A: It's a very friendly and fun gathering of quilters/sewers sharing a weekend together. We call it "Brown Bag" because each Retreater brings her/his own project to work on and everyone brings something to share at the Friday night potluck. There are no classes, no schedules to adhere to, no workshop to follow -- just you, your sewing machine, your project and everyone else! Your weekend will be filled with good food, good fun and good friends - we like to tell people you'll have nothing to do except "graze and sew" (meaning enjoy the yummy snacks and food and then get back to sewing!)

Q: Where are the "Brown Bag Retreats?"

A: We hold them right here at The Creation Station -- not inside the shop. We have a very special, 2,400 square foot room in the same building. That means that the shop is only a few steps away if you need supplies!

Q: How long does a "Brown Bag Retreat" last?

A: Retreats are held on select weekends from Friday through Sunday. Doors open at 8 a.m. on Friday and Retreaters are allowed in to select their table. You can sew as long as you want on Friday/Saturday -- even into the wee hours of the morning if you want! On Sunday, the fun ends at 3 pm sharp.

Q: How much does it cost?

A: The current fee for our "Brown Bag Retreats" is $85 per person. This fee does not include lodging -- you will need to make separate arrangements for your hotel/motel needs.

Q: How Do I Sign Up for a Brown Bag Retreat?

A: Just complete our registration form and mail/fax it to us with your complete payment. Click here to download the registration form.

Q: The date I want to attend is already "Sold Out!" What can I do?

A: Call the shop (805) 693-0174 or eMAIL us to let us know that you are interested in a retreat date that is sold out. IF someone cancels, we call the persons listed on our waiting list for that date to, hopefully, find a replacement. There is NO obligation to you to be on the waiting list. If you are called and you accept, you will then need to pay for the Brown Bag Retreat seat.

Q: Where do I have to stay?

A: You can stay anywhere you like. There are no lodging requirements and local lodging options are listed on the back of our Brown Bag Retreat Information Sheet.
