The
Creation Station Fabric and Quilt Shop is owned and operated by Dawn
and Patrick Farrier, a wife & husband team based in Buellton,
California, USA. This page will provide you with a little information
about our shop. For a full
bio about us and our shop, click here.
Our shop is quite unique
as is our inventory. All of our fabric is 100% cotton, top-quality
and value-priced at $5 per yard. Most of our fabric is at least
one "fabric-season" old -- which means that we can purchase
it at a lower price and sell it to you at a significant savings!
In addition to our shop,
we travel frequently to quilt shows all over California and Arizona.
Once there, we sell our pre-cut fabric to our distant customers.
You may have already purchased fabric from The Creation Station
at your local quilt show but didn't know!
Don't be fooled by the
booth at our show -- you see, we only take cut fabric to quilt
shows. We have MUCH more in our store!

Our
store is located inside a former bowling alley in Buellton, California.
We haven't occupied the entire building (yet) but our shop is spacious
at 2800 square feet and offers us plenty of room for the thousands
of cotton prints we stock.
Traveling to our store
will allow you to purchase not only from our selection of cut fabric
but also from the huge selection available as yardage. Our stock
is more than 1/2-yard and 1-yard cuts.
We carry thousands of
prints still "on the bolt" so you can back your quilt,
sew a garment, create curtains or whatever you desire! The only "catch" is
that we only cut in 1/2 yard increments. The price is the same
for you -- $5 per yard!

Once
inside you'll need time to browse, whether you sew or not. We invite
you to enjoy our collection of vintage sewing machines, vintage patterns,
family photos and lawn sprinklers (yes, lawn sprinklers!).
Nearly every display in
our shop is "recycled" from its previous use or is something
we have constructed. Nothing is conventional and we love to put
an old item to use in a new way!
We carry hundreds of patterns
and books and make a special effort to carry many patterns from
independent designers that you may not have found elsewhere. Our
walls are adorned with quilt, bag and project samples and the pattern
for each is located with the sample or a sign on the sample will
direct you right to its location. No wasting time wandering around,
looking for the pattern!
We carry all of the necessary
notions you need to complete your project and we carry a full line
of hand and machine needles. We also stock Mettler, YLI and Sulky
threads.

At
least seven times a year we hold our Brown
Bag Retreat. This is an opportunity for quilters/sewers to get
away from their everyday chores and relax on our turf. We presently
hold our Brown
Bag Retreats at a nearby hotel conference room (1/2 mile from
our store) in Buellton.
These events have proven
so popular that we have expanded our schedule to accomodate more
dates every year. You can find out more about our Brown
Bag Retreats by clicking on the "Retreat" button
at the top left of this page.
The Creation Station is
a member of the Central Coast Quilt Shop Association. Our Association
organizes two events each year -- both very unique.
The Holiday Open House
occurs the first weekend in November and is a chance for each of
our shops to roll out all of our holiday projects, decor and ideas.
The Central
Coast Quilt Shop Tour is held over the first weekend in June.
We have a LOT of fun during The
Shop Tour and we work to make it an opportunity to entertain
YOU as well as provide some quilting/sewing tips and ideas.
This year the Central
Coast Quilt Shop Tour is Friday - Sunday, June 2 - 4, 2006.
